Has the metal base of your parasol left rust stains on your slate tiles? Here, we’ll show you how to easily remove rust stains and discoloration from slate using a cleaner based on inorganic acids with non-ionic surfactants and rust inhibitors. The product contains no hydrochloric acid, and the surfactants are biodegradable.
You Will Need
The surface must be completely dry.
Apply the product undiluted with a brush.
Tip: To avoid renewed rust formation in untreated areas and/or color differences, it’s recommended to treat the entire stone surface.
Let the product sit for up to 24 hours, depending on the need.
Avoid letting the surface dry out—cover it with plastic wrap or similar if necessary.
Use a natural-bristle brush if needed, then thoroughly rinse with water until all rust remover residue is gone.
Repeat the treatment if necessary when the surface is completely dry again.
Tip: Consider sealing the surface to protect the stone from water penetration, which can lead to renewed rust formation.
