Choosing local slate is in itself a sustainable choice because of its record-low environmental footprint. But a natural material such as Scandinavian slate will always accept new challenges!
Old slate paving from the sun corner can be given new life as crazy paving across the lawn. Roof tiles can be removed and used again. An outdoor slate wall can be taken apart and given new life as part of an indoor fireplace. Slate has eternal life as a material for new ideas - if only you choose to reuse it!
Slate lasts forever. It may seem impossible to get bored with it, but if it does have to be changed, it can be taken down and recycled again and again. And not just in the most obvious ways!
