Celsius is an office and laboratory building in Uppsala Science Park, designed by White Arkitekter and completed in 2020. It was developed for organizations with demanding technical and environmental requirements and has achieved LEED v4 Platinum certification.

Offerdal quartzite has been used for floors and stairs, with a natural surface and details tailored to the building’s architectural design. The stair treads were delivered in custom dimensions with ground and chamfered edges, and skirtings were made in the same material.

The slate was chosen for its technical qualities and to enhance the overall interior experience. In the central light courtyard, the slate floor forms a stable and visually grounding element that interacts with colored acoustic panels and vertical room structures. The material offers durability and low maintenance over time.
