Copperhill Mountain Lodge is located on the summit of Förberget in Åre and was designed by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson. The hotel draws inspiration from American lodge architecture but is adapted to the Nordic landscape with extensive use of local slate.

The façade consists of dry stacked Offerdal quartzite wall bricks with backfilling, used in both landscape walls and exterior façades, especially in the après-ski and conference areas. Indoors, the slate is used for flooring, stairs, walls, and countertops. The building’s three-storey atrium features a fireplace and columns in dry stacked slate, reinforcing the material-based architecture.

All slate wall bricks are installed for full dismantling and reuse.
