Knutepunktet Voss, designed by TAG Arkitekter and completed in 2022, is located next to the train station in Voss and gathers several health and care services in one building. The project is BREEAM-NOR Excellent certified and built to passive house standards.
The outdoor area is paved with Offerdal slate slabs laid in loose bedding. The slate has a natural rustic surface and was chosen for its durability, slip resistance, and low environmental impact. The paving is adapted for year-round use and supports the building’s environmental profile.
The slip-resistant qualities of the slate are especially important in the winter months, and the material was selected with year-round functionality in mind. All slate is installed in a way that allows it to be fully dismantled and reused. The distance from quarry to site is 530 km. The outdoor area is open for visits.
