The artwork Path of Silence was developed by Jeppe Hein in 2016 as part of the 17th exhibition at Kistefos Museum. The installation is inspired by silence, presence, and transformation, forming a labyrinthine walkway in the landscape surrounding the former power station.

The paving consists of Light Oppdal quartzite and Offerdal quartzite in custom dimensions. The slate is laid in a triangular pattern inside shape-fitted steel frames that rest on steel feet. The contrast in grey tones between the two materials highlights the visual rhythm of the piece and its interaction with surrounding vegetation, water, and steel.

All slate is installed to allow full dismantling and reuse. Transport distance: 320 km from Oppdal, 660 km from Offerdal. The installation is open for visits.
