You can cut slate slabs up to 2.5 cm thick to achieve exactly the shape you want—curves, notches, corners, and straight edges. This method minimizes waste, eliminates noise and dust, and requires no electricity. It is very easy to use and requires little physical effort. When shaping slate, always consider how to make the best use of the slab, choosing one that matches well with those already laid.
Place the slab you need to cut slightly under the “neighboring slab” and mark it with chalk along the edge.
Cut along the marking, always using the innermost part of the scissors. Push the slab inward as you cut.
If larger parts of the slab need to be cut away, cut gradually towards the marking—little by little, not all at once.
When cutting corners, it’s beneficial to cut diagonally towards the corner before gradually moving out from the corner.
