Sjøbadet Myklebust was opened in 2015 and designed by Norconsult Norge AS. The project is located in Sola municipality, directly exposed to the North Sea, and combines universal accessibility with durable materials adapted to the harsh coastal climate.

Large flagstones of Light Oppdal quartzite are used in walkways, paths, and seating areas surrounding the sea pool. The slate is adapted to the contours of the terrain and mounted directly onto cast concrete, providing high durability and resistance to salt, moisture, and temperature fluctuations. The solution ensures both resilience and minimal landscape disruption.

The use of slate reinforces the site’s integration with the natural surroundings and strengthens its nature-based character. The facility is open for site visits.
